Every stitch, a promise. Every seed, a beginning.

With you from the start.

Stitch & Seed began with a single piece: a soft cotton onesie, made plain on purpose, with one small seed-mark embroidered by hand on the back of the right foot.

The name holds the idea. She brings the seed — small, fragile, full of potential. She tends it, the way she was always going to.

We bring the stitch. Every decision made before it reaches her, so that she never has to make it. Which way the neck opens. Whether it is snaps or a zip, and where they sit. Which way the seam faces against new skin. The cotton itself.

We make essentials for the first months, and only the first months. Not because the rest matters less, but because these weeks ask the most of her — and because clothes made for a two-week-old should be designed for a two-week-old, not shrunk down from something else.

We follow her through four beginnings: The First Bond, The First Reach, The First Response, The First Expression. Her journey, not only his wardrobe.

None of the work is visible. All of it was decided.

Every stitch, a promise. Every seed, a beginning.

How to keep it soft.

Our pieces are made to be worn close, washed often, and passed on. A few small habits will keep them as soft as the day they arrived.

Wash

Cool water. The shortest cycle your machine allows. A gentle, fragrance-free detergent — nothing with bleach or optical brighteners, which can sit in fabric and reach a baby's skin.

If something needs a refresh between washes, a damp cotton cloth and a few minutes in the sun is usually enough.

Dry

Lay flat. The shape will hold. Skip the tumble dryer if you can — heat is what shortens a cotton garment's life more than anything else.

Iron

Rarely. Cool, and on the inside if you must. Most of our pieces don't ask for it.

Store

Folded, not hung. In a drawer that doesn't see direct sunlight. A small piece of cedar or a clean cotton sachet keeps the air around them clean.

Pass it on

Newborns grow in weeks. The piece your baby wears for two months may live for two more babies after him. We make ours to last that long.

When you're done with a piece, give it forward — to a sister, a friend, a stranger at the next table. The seed travels well.

Care, kept simple. With you from the start.

STITCH & SEED BEGAN HERE

The First Piece

Stitch & Seed began with a single piece: a soft cotton onesie, made plain on purpose, with one small seed-mark embroidered by hand on the back of the right foot. The name holds the whole idea: nurturing something precious, one moment at a time.
GROWN HERE, MADE HERE

The Craft

We committed to using Egyptian cotton, brushed soft, so it is soft enough for the first day of skin. We realized clothes made for a two-week-old should be designed for a two-week-old, not shrunk down from something else.
MADE SMALL, ON PURPOSE

The Design

We refined every detail to support the mother's emotional world. Seams that lie flat against newborn skin. Openings that part easily for the half-asleep changes, and the ones in the dark. Soft, small prints. No slogans, no noise.
WITH YOU FROM THE START

The Promise

We make essentials for the first months, and only the first months. We follow her through four beginnings — The First Bond, The First Reach, The First Response, The First Expression — because we are here for her journey, not only for her baby's wardrobe.
